about the video source?

Ive tried s video and composite cable on my DLP XGA projector and for some reason the compound is a better picture.the s video has ghosts and monitoring lines. I know that this component would be better, but 10 million component to VGA / DVI leg.people cost an arm and say compound is the lowest of the low, but I think it has more ANY1 noticed much difference between the types of cable? or is my projector compromise somehow?
