Multimedia Subwoofer connection with home theater?
I have a Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 5.1 subwoofer system and the control module. I was wondering if anyone knew if I was able to connect to my home theater system? I have a 5.1 channel receiver from Sony. The back of the subwoofer has a mini plug to connect to the media card and communication equipment also takes to the satellite speakers. Any help would be great!
If your Sony amp / receiver is anything like mine, then you should have 5 Pre Out RCA jacks on the back, which are designed to send amplified sound to another amp to do the work in its place. So you should find that if you have three (?) Mini-jack input connectors on the surround sound system, you can connect three cables, each of them would have to mini-jack from one end and two standard RCA cable from the other. But if you have a Sony 5.1 receiver sure you get much better sound and separate speakers anyway?
