It's easy to tell the new short throw projectors from their more standard relatives by the big lenses they sport on a relatively small chassis. When you thing about it for a moment it make s perfect sense, in that a short throw projector has to get the picture very wide in a hurry, thus the big lense.

Sanyo has recently introduced it's low-cost PLC-WXE45 Projector to the marketplace. In keeping with the steady climb of technology and decline in prices (let's hope this continues), the Sanyo PLC-WXE45 offers the unique ability to project an 80 inch image from only a 34 inch distance to the screen! That is amazing. I guess that big cyclops of a lens is actually doing something.
In addition to it's very short throw capabilities, the projector also offers full WXGA resolution, a small footprint, the ability to project onto blackboards and other color boards with it's healthy allocation of 2000 lumens make this a perfect projector for educators in demanding and varying classroom situations.
Many will also appreciate the easy interface provided to work at almost plug and play ease with laptop computers, both PC and MAC.
With maintenance and A/V departments in mind, Sanyo was also thoughtful enough to include their exclusive PJ Network Interface, this allows the projector to hook up to a wired network, automatically report it's functioning and current operating status which can be monitored from a web browser or received via e-mail.
Strengthening it's position as a contender for classroom, lecture projector, the Sanyo PLC-WXE45 also includes built in closed captioning.
