What are the best ways to make a projection screen?

Instead of paying hundreds of professionals from the screen, what are best home made screens? The white paint, leaves, cloth ...

See the answer to a similar question in the link. Note the first link erroneously omitted (below the 2nd link) and the 3rd relationship broke down when I moved out of the picture (sorry ).... the 3rd link works. I would add to this answer as follows: The system of Goo mentioned by others is undoubtedly supposed to be pretty good, but not cheap. As noted in the response referred to the AVS Forum DIY screen (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=110) is the place to look. There is a lot but there is some discussion excellent advice, covering almost every possible means and material. The secret seems to be a soft background material .. after that is what the surface coating is what matters. I found spending time to read through several of the forums, so worth it. The screen did was based on information from the forum of the screen DIY. That there is no "hot spot", the image is still good to 20 degrees off center, the colors are natural and bright with good program material (and may be saturated or not tainted with poor material), suggesting the screen is fairly accurately represent what is projected on it. When I compare my screen material commercial screen (1 sq ft three different pieces recorded on my screen) I could not see any significant difference. I will not claim my test was a scientist, but the difference was not evident and mine costs about $ 50 to address $ 800 - $ 1200 to buy. I included a link (# 4) at a distance of seat / size calculator screen as needed to give the size and aspect ratio of careful consideration. Personally I use a 4:3 screen from my projector (Canon SX-60) native is 4:3. This allows me to have a 4:3 picture BIG for old movies and project widescreen (1.78:1> 2.40:1) in overall width. I have not found the need to hide the top and bottom. Hope this prompts you to give it a try ... after all you have to lose but a small amount of money and some time .....
