ViewSonic VX2835wm 28 "Multimedia LCD?

I wonder if I can use the device as a television set for pluging in a HD set top box through its HDMI or component inputs. I need a computer for this to work or I can watch TV with the decoder and connect my xbox to it? its cheaper than a television in their present + 1920x1200 resolutuion. 1000 U.S. $ more expensive than a TV that size. Also, what is a ViewSonic LCD like? thanks

Hi John, YES to exit HDMI set top box to the HDMI input on the monitor. Although the VX2835w is not a tuner, the top should produce digital quality images with no problem. Such Once a XBOX whid ouput depend on the type available on the Xbox. If the HDMI, then just switch the cables, if RGB then it would work through the superior set, but only if the decoder has inputs and input selection via a menu. If not, then you can use a VGA box for XBOX readily available. I love this projector. Big picture and to look good on plain white walls. Tech forward to the actual image on the screen. Sound from small speakers and volume adjustment but it does not want to listen. To talk less when you ole hook up to the sound or not in talks to create a real check and just really did not intend for. IMO users. People will use sound Im certain. Wireless headsets for my neighbors will hear it clearly is not annoying. This projector is good value for many reasons but one reason is the most important low-cost tube. Other high-end units have a higher value bulbs. 350.00 USD lamp for this unit 11.75 and that my friends make up for the best video projector. This acquisition will surprise you! Thank you.
