What works best for owners of other businesses?

I am currently running my business out of my house instead of my office because I have a baby and my husband's business is really busy. I need to be at home during the day to take care of my daughter in addition to doing all the housework. What works best for other business owners home: designate a day or two just to get the most from home, work and leaving the rest to do business for most or separation almost every day between home and make a business work? I recently tried splitting is a week of housework between 7 days and a long list of things to do for my company that I work to choose from but I would still disorganized and I'm too inefficent. I can not have a precise time schedule for hours because of my toddler, I need to be flexible. Suggestions?

I found that as far as housework goes, the best thing to do is schedule that in the morning. The first thing I do is put on coffee, and well that's me mixing quickly dust the living room and run the vacuum around, then I tidy the kitchen. I sneak the bathroom whenever I have a spare 15 minutes or so, but if I do not one day, this is not the end of the world. I think sometimes when I need a little break from work, I actually enjoy throwing a load of laundry or cleaning something quickly. I use this time to think about my next move in business. Some days I'll run with a rag while talking on the phone! Some days, no housework, is done at all other than the essentials. When you have a little toddler, schedules are dirty, and it is ... that's why you have chosen to work at home first. Once your business is running fairly smooth, you will find that other stuff just falls into place. You will see that you are not as productive in a certain time of day you see a pattern, So you begin to use this time for other things like grocery shopping, DR appts and so on. Do not try to be Supermom / Super Business Woman / Super Wife / Super House Maid, or you'll burn yourself. right priorities, do what you can when you can, and enjoy working from home and raise your child. Stay focused on your goals, re-visit your "Why" and your goals every day and go after them!
