Hitachi Projectors

Hitachi projectors are manufactured by Hitachi Limited, which is a multinational company based in Tokyo and specializes in high-technology products and services. It’s operations are divided into seven basic industry segments of which the Hitachi LCD projectors form part of the Digital Media & Consumer Products division.

Before purchasing Hitachi LCD projectors for business use, there are some basics that must be learned in order to find the best projectors that will suit your presentation needs as well as the budgetary constraints. The fundamentals pertain to aspect ratio, brightness, and contrast, respectively. These criteria will help you determine the type of Hitachi projector that you want to purchase, assuming that cost comes as a secondary factor in the decision-making process.

Aspect Ratio

The aspect ratio of an image is the ratio of it’s width to it’s height, which is commonly expressed as x:y in television and projector formats. The most common of these aspect rations are 4:3 and 16:9 for standard television and for high definition television (HDTV), respectively. Of course, these aspect ratios also exist for Hitachi projectors except that with the perfect fit feature, most notably in the CP-A52 Series, presenters can adjust the images in either the horizontal or the vertical corners to fit any screen.

However, for most projectors manufactured by Hitachi, like the CP-X301 Series, the aspect ratio is a native 4:3 although these can be compatible with the 16:9 formats. There are advantages and disadvantages with each format, which the consumer will notice in actual viewing.

Brightness

In projectors, brightness refers to the amount of light perceived by the human eyes as viewed from the screen. It can depend on two factors: the projector’s light output and the screen’s reflective properties.

Basically, Hitachi projectors measure brightness in the industry standard of ANSI Lumens, which can range from a low of 2,000 to a high of 10,000 per projector. The fundamental rule for business use projectors is that the more lumens the projector has, the brighter the picture will be.

There are recommended lumens depending on the number of audience and the amount of light present in the venue. Of course, other factors like the ultra-short throw feature can affect the lumens recommendation but basically, these suggestions apply: 2,000 for less than 100 audience members with ambient light; 3,000 lumens for 100-200 audience members with ambient light; and 5,000 for 100 or more audience members with bright room lighting.

Again, the higher the lumens, the brighter the room can be without sacrificing picture quality. Choose from the 2,000 lumens CPX3 Series to the 7,000 lumens CP-SX12000 Series for your needs.

Contrast

For Hitachi projectors, contrast can vary from the lows of 500:1 in the CPX4 Series to the highs of 2,500:1 in the CP-SX12000, which simply means that the latter has greater contrast than the former. Conventionally defined, contrast is the difference between the deepest black and the whitest white in images.

Although contrast is not as important as brightness in business projectors, consumers are still advised to opt for higher contrast ratios for better picture quality. After all, the crispness of graphics and text in presentations can make or break the deal!

In conclusion, Hitachi projectors offer one of the best options for office projectors because of the variety of products available that allow you the opportunity to choose aspect ratios, brightness and contrast levels to meet your own unique needs.
