This system is very easy to use. The only downsize was the sound, you will need another set of speakers to add. Shipping was very fast. Overall I would recomend product and seller.
18 months on and I still see no projector I like better.

Actually, I like this projector better now than I did to begin with as I learn how to get the most out of it. Yes, it does have incredibly deep rich color and produces a sharp clear image. You can play count the pores and hairs even at 720p on an eighty inch screen so I won't repeat what others have said. It will produce acceptable color and image quality under average room lighting but to get the WOW effect, the room should be dark and the lamp set at "Theater black". I don't know of a projector that doesn't work best in a dark room. One very important point that just isn't addressed to any extent in any of the reviews I've read or in the manual that came with the projector is the fact that it is capable of displaying at 1080i. I'm sure others may but I see no difference between 1080i and 1080p. For Blu-ray, I connect my PS3 via HDMI and set the video output to 1080i and the difference is amazing. That goes both for movies and games. I also connect my DirecTV receiver via HDMI with the box output set at 1080i and get almost the same results. I have to say that I have never bought a product before that I was as completely happy with as I am with the Moviemate 72.
Sound Disappointment

Overall this is a fine machine. I was disappointed to discover that the only audio OUT capability is optical digital. That wasn't apparent in the features list on Amazon. I'd really like to have used my portable Bose SoundDock with this projector for outdoor movies but that's not possible using the projector alone. The only workaround is to connect an external DVD player and route the audio from the external player to my portable sound system. That said, the sound from the Epson 72 internal speakers is reasonably good. Setup was a snap. Picture quality, with both a standard DVD played by the Epson and a Blu-Ray disk using an external player connected to the projector with an HDMI cable, on my 100" screen is outstanding so it deserves a 4 star rating.

This projector is wonderful! I bought it for the grandkids to enjoy but we enjoy it just as much! Very easy to set up! The picture is beautiful on a sheet or an inflatable screen! I rated the sound at a 4 star because we use this more often outdoors where it could be louder but indoors it's fine. If need be, we can always add additional speakers with no problems. A lot of fun bringing the family together for a movie night out under the stars!
Excellent Value

I was hesistant at first on purchasing this projector. Did my research and read comments from other customers and decided to plunged in. This projector did not disappoint! Easy to use, portable and the included speakers are a plus. The speakers are loud enough on a 20X20 room. The video quality is outstanding particularly the up-converted DVD combo. Unless you are a video enthusiast, the difference between the Blue ray and the DVD combo is unnoticeable. Hightly recommended if you are looking for a mid range HD projector.
