I am trying to install a hard drive Maxtor DiamondMax plus 8 on a Dell 3000, how do I do?
I have no manual. The Dell had no record hard. Do I need different IDE cables or?
Must be a direct replacement. You will have to either take off the cover, or find the access panel the hard disk in the bottom of the laptop. You should be able to remove the old disk, put the new disk back in (the unit can have a trolley that is mounted on, have to mount the new drive before putting it back in). Then, of course, have to install a new operating system. Then you should have a team work.
